Due to the extreme heat and out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our student-athletes, Football and Cross Country tryouts scheduled for Monday have been cancelled.
We will share updated information regarding rescheduled tryout dates as soon as it becomes available.

At our Friday in-service, Principal Edwards made sure our teachers and staff felt supported, valued, and ready to take on the new school year. We had a meaningful discussion about teacher mental health and burnout and learned simple chair yoga techniques that we can use throughout the day to pause, recenter, and focus on our own well-being.
A special thank you to the Daniel Education Group and Ms. Tanesha Craig for spending time with us and providing such a meaningful and engaging session!

📣 YDMS Upcoming Events & Announcements! 📣
-Interested in joining the student council? Come to the interest meeting this Thursday to pick up a packet. You must stay for the meeting in order to be eligible. The meeting will be from 3:30-4:00 and will be held in the auditorium and parents must be on time to pick you up.
-Football Tryouts will be next Monday 8/17 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM on the football field. Students must be 7th or 8th grade. Students should bring cleats and athletic clothing.
-Softball tryouts will be next Tuesday, August 18 from 330-430. You will meet in the gym after school. Please bring a glove and make sure to wear tennis shoes.
-Do you want to get fired up for YDMS? Then let's go! Come join the pep squad. The interest meeting will be this Friday, August 14th , at 5:00pm in the auditorium. Parents must attend.
-Cross Country practice begins Monday 8/17 after school. Meet Coach Grace in the gym.

All electronic devices should be turned off and stowed away in backpacks prior to entry at the front doors into campus for the instructional day. Devices are not considered “stowed away” in students’ pockets, hands, purses, or visible locations. If the electronic device is visible outside of the backpack, it will be confiscated. Students may use electronic devices at the end of the instructional day after dismissal at 3:25 p.m.
