YDMS Engineering students had their Bakowski Bridge of Lights show highlighted in a celebration of engineering and art at the Central Art Station in downtown Shreveport. These light shows were created to play on the bridge to music using state of the art LED lighting and software. #SpartanProud

Today's Job Fair was a HUGE hit! Our students had a blast learning about all sorts of amazing careers from our fantastic community partners. From Construction Workers to 911 Dispatchers and everything in between, it was an inspiring day that opened their eyes to the possibilities that lie ahead.

The YDMS girls choir performed this past Sunday, May 5, 2024 at the 41st Holocaust Remembrance Service of Northwest Louisiana held at the LSUS campus. We are so proud of the choir and appreciate Ms. Winston for all her hard work!

Justice in Session for Ms. Finch's Class! ⚖️
Ms. Finch's 3rd period got an incredible surprise for National Law Day! Judge Karelia Stewart, and her Bailiff, joined our class to discuss state government and our freedoms as citizens that are protected by law. ️
We dove deep into the democratic process, learning how laws are made at the local, state, and federal levels, all safeguarding our rights and well-being. Judge Stewart even brought it home for our young minds by explaining students' rights and empowering them to advocate for change within their schools and communities. ✊

Congratulations to our incredible inaugural YDMS Swim Team for placing Fifth overall (despite having fewer than half of the swimmers of every other team) in the district championship this past Saturday in Ruston! Each of our swimmers beat their former heat times and exemplified the competitive spirit of YDMS! Representing YDMS were: Anthony Douglas, Kelsey Gibbs, Ayanna Hubbard, Addison Irvin and Madison Madjerick! We are Spartan Proud!
