Two amazing teams from YDMS competed in the First Lego League Challenge this past Saturday at SciPort Discovery Center in Shreveport! 🎉 🎉 🎉 Both teams did a fantastic job in the Lego Robotics Challenge and impressed the judges with their innovation projects. 🤖⭐️ The "Spartan Cyclone" team, consisting of Mathew Underwood, Pierce Elliott, Tristian Tesch, and Kaden Dennis, showed off their skills and creativity. The "Spartan Hurricane" team, made up of EmmaLee Clinton, Brittany Payne, Tizrah Tisdon, and Daniel Martinez, took home the 1st Place Core Values Award and earned enough points to directly qualify for the Louisiana State Tournament in the Spring! 🏆🎉 We are incredibly proud of all of these students for their hard work and dedication! Winter Formal Tickets will be on sale Friday morning for $15, cash only. Students will be called to cafeteria to pay during first hour. Tickets will NOT be available for purchase at the door. If student has had discipline issues (any OSS or 3 or more ISS), they will not be able to attend. Concessions will be available for $2 each. A photographer will be at the dance and be selling prints for $5.

🥫🎉 A huge round of applause to everyone who made the 4-H Northwest Louisiana Food Bank can food drive a smashing success at YDMS! Together, we collected an astounding 2,000+ items, weighing in at 1,874 pounds of nourishment for those in need. A standing ovation to the sixth grade class for securing the coveted canned food drive grade level competition, and a special shoutout to Mrs. Harper's homeroom for championing the collection with the most cans.
