This afternoon the Caddo Parish School Board unanimously approved an increase in the daily rate of pay for substitute teachers, substitute office clerks, and substitute secretaries. We are grateful to the Board for their continued commitment to our students and staff and efforts to remain competitive in recruiting and retaining the highest quality staff across our district.

This event is for incoming 6th graders.
If you did not pre-register online, there will be late registration available. Please arrive at 3:00 PM and the $25 registration fee must be paid in cash.

YDMS faculty and staff had a great professional development session focused on teamwork with Dr. Perry Daniel! We are excited to start this year as one team, one dream.
Breakfast & Lunch
There is not cost to students for breakfast or lunch.
Nutritious, well-balanced meals are important for proper growth and development. Students are encouraged to eat a school lunch in the cafeteria or bring one from home.
Fast foods such as Sonic, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, etc., are not allowed in the school cafeteria.

Reminder: As stated on the school supply list, students need to have inexpensive earbuds/earphones that are compatible with Chromebooks. Students will frequently utilize this school supply in their classes. Students may not wear Airpods or Airpod-like earbuds when not in use for class. We encourage students to leave expensive belongings at home.

Reminder of changes for this year: No hoodies, no Crocs and belts are optional.
Homeroom Teachers: A list of homeroom teachers will be posted Saturday, July 30th - Tuesday, August 2nd at the front of the school. This will list your student’s first hour teacher. On the first day of school, students will report to their homeroom and receive their complete schedule. There will be student helpers to assist students find their classes throughout the day.
*Incoming 6th Graders who are attending Spartan Camp can get this information during that time.

School Hours
First Bell 7:55 AM (tardy bell: 8:00 AM)
Dismissal 3:25 PM
Earliest Arrival is 7:40 AM. (No student should arrive at school before this time.)
Latest Departure is 3:45 PM. (All students should be picked up by this time.
Bus riders will be dropped off in the front circle area of the school. This area is reserved for buses between 7:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 3:40 p.m. Cars are not permitted in this area during these times.
Car riders should be dropped off in the north parking lot by the Carroll St. entrance between 7:40 a.m. – 7:55 a.m. and students should walk to the front of the school to enter the building. The Carroll Street entrances are reserved for faculty and staff. Car riders should be picked up between 3:25 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. Students should exit and enter cars by the “Drop off Zone” signs only.
Walkers can enter and exit the campus through the front doors of the school.
Go to www.caddoschools.org and click on find my bus stop. Your bus number, time of pickup and time of drop off will be provided.
Water Bottles: All water fountains have been converted to water bottle refill stations. Students need to bring a water bottle each day. Reusable drink containers are allowed provided that they have a lid. No glass bottles allowed.
