With over 44 years of dedicated service in the field of education, Leisa G. Woolfolk brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to fostering educational excellence to her new role as interim superintendent of Caddo Parish Public Schools.
Significant leadership roles mark her professional journey in Caddo Parish Public Schools. For the last four years, Mrs. Woolfolk served as the Chief Human Resource Officer, where she worked to recruit, retain, and develop a high-quality and diverse workforce. Before her role as Chief Human Resource Officer, she served for 20 years as an Executive Director of Schools, overseeing high school, K-8, middle, and elementary school principals to ensure Caddo students received the best instructional opportunities.
As a principal at Judson Elementary School from 1994 to 2000 and Hillsdale Elementary School from 1993 to 1994, Mrs. Woolfolk worked closely with her staff to adopt best practices and enhance community partnerships. Her earlier roles included Assistant Principal and Instructional Coordinator at Turner Elementary/Middle School and classroom teacher positions at Turner Elementary/Middle School and North Highlands Elementary where she began her education career as a first-grade teacher.
Mrs. Woolfolk's commitment to lifelong learning and growth is evident through her participation in the Louisiana Superintendent's Academy, where she graduated as part of the 2018-2019 Cohort 3 and has served as a presenter for the last four years. She was also selected as a facilitator for the National Institute for School Leaders (NISL) for three years.
In her role as interim superintendent, Woolfolk aims to maintain the ongoing operations of the school district while using her in-depth knowledge of the district to provide leadership and support to administrators, teachers, and support staff. She is committed to addressing concerns promptly, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and representing Caddo Parish Public Schools in the community to continue developing positive relationships.
Mrs. Woolfolk holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master's in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University, as well as a Masters +30 Graduate Hours from Centenary College. Her extensive licensures include certifications as a School Superintendent, Parish/City School Supervisor of Instruction, Supervisor of Student Teaching, Guidance Counselor, Principal, Elementary School Principal, and Counselor in Elementary Schools.
Mrs. Woolfolk's career is marked by her unrelenting dedication to improving educational outcomes, supporting professional growth, and ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
