BLACK HISTORY MONTH: We would like to recognize some of the leaders who have made a tremendous impact in our schools and shaped the history of our district. Ollie Tyler was appointed as the first African American and the first woman to serve as Superintendent of Caddo Parish Public Schools. Huntington High School will host a Battle of the Drumlines Competition at 6 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 inside the gym. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and tickets will be sold at the door for $8.

MUSIC MONDAY: Congratulations to members of the Huntington High Choir for receiving Superior ratings at the Louisiana Tech Music Rally! Students competing in the Large Ensemble, SATB Quartet, Solo Vocalist Division and Piano Performance categories all earned the top honor. The Interact Club at North Caddo Magnet partnered with Geaux 4 Kids to unpack 300 pillows, backpacks, and pajamas for distribution to children involved in emergency foster care situations. Geaux Bags provide children with necessities and comfort items during an emergency transition. #wearecaddo

WEATHER UPDATE: All schools will be opened as scheduled on Wednesday. Overnight, district leadership monitored weather reports and road conditions provided by local and state agencies including Louisiana DOTD, the National Weather Service and Homeland Security. Roadways have been deemed safe by our agency partners and we look forward to seeing all of our students and staff today. Thank you for your patience as we worked across agencies to assess conditions.
